Thinking outside of the box

So long Tacoma.....

.....hello house

I'm grateful that I have a husband who can see creative ways to solving problems. When our landlord came back early from Australia and we were facing a move much sooner than we had anticipated, we were discouraged because we simply did not have enough money saved for the down-payment to buy a house. It looked as if we would need to find another rental. But thanks to Mark's thinking "outside of the box", we sold our truck and with that cash and the money that we can save between now and March 26, we will have the necessary funds to close on a house in Denver.

I'm also so grateful that Mark doesn't need a lot of "stuff" to make him happy. In this case, it was selling the truck (which we really liked) and keeping the '98 Honda so that we can have our "own" home.

I'll keep you posted on the progress of buying our house.

Home Sweet Home

I was intrigued with Kirstin's latest post on her blog about decorating resources so I decided to take the sproost's mystyle quiz . Apparently I can't decide if I am a "Nantucket", "Arts and Crafts", or "Southwestern" type of girl (34%, 34%, 32% respectively). This is what happens when you move around...you start to like a little bit of this and a little bit of that. But it does confirm that I like simple, comfy, white and neutral colors, lots of wood and sunny rooms! This does not surprise me at all!

snipets of heaven

There is a real "like/dislike" relationship with having children. One minute there isn't anything better in the world than being a mom and then the next you are wondering, "what the heck were we thinking when we decided to have kids"!

Not so with grandchildren (at this point in time anyway). The moment they arrive, the world is better than ok....it is pure joy. I think that it must be God's way of showing me a little snipet of what heaven will be like :)
